Waterfall Relaxation Meditation

Waterfall flowBuddhaNet’s Waterfall Relaxation Meditation is great for teaching children how to calm down, relax and focus.

You can use this technique to get into a deep, relaxed state before going onto the Joy Meditation For Children or you can practice this mediation on its own.

Read this to your child in a slow, soothing voice. Pause from time to time so that the imagery sinks in and the scene can be fully experienced.

Waterfall Relaxation Meditation

A beautiful waterfall of white light is flowing down on you. It flows down on your head, helping your head to relax. You feel your head relaxing. It moves down over your neck and shoulders. Your neck and shoulders are relaxing. Now it flows down over your arms. You feel your arms relaxing. It flows down your back. Your back is letting go and relaxing. It flows over your chest and stomach, helping your chest and stomach relax. You feel your chest and stomach relax. It moves down over your legs and feet. You feel your legs and feet letting go and relaxing. The beautiful waterfall of white light is flowing over your whole body. You are very peaceful and relaxed.

Buddha Dharma Education Association and Buddhanet

Once you and your child have memorized this, you both can use it at any time to calm down and relax the body. It’s a great way to relieve tension and ease the mind into the alpha state for increased creativity and productivity. It’s also a fabulous technique for getting into a meditative state before going onto any guided meditation or creative visualization.

Peace & love,

Joya
