Aladdin’s cave.

your light

Many years ago I became very active in yoga and meditation and through daily practice I reached deep states of meditation whereby I was able to connect with a higher level of consciousness.
During these states I was able to receive inspiration and guidance.
Travels in India put me in touch with many teachers and I read many books of a spiritual nature.
All this has taught me that within each and every one of us there is a higher force, a greater intelligence, a wisdom far beyond that which we encounter in our everyday material realm of being.
There is so much information around today about the Law of Attraction. The Secret had made more people than ever aware of the power of the mind and that we are what we think. But just thinking it is not not enough, in fact that ‘s the easy bit. There has to be some action. I feel that I am missing something when I listen to celebrities saying how they thought they would be successful and now they are; they found what they were good at; they found their genie, their bigger self and they learnt how to make it work for them. That is what I feel I am looking for now. I am looking for my genie, my greater self that knows truly what it want. First we must have the desire, then we seek for the way, then the door opens to the treasure.
All the ancient teachings point to only one way. It is a narrow way. It is a way that you have to enter alone. In yoga we are aware of the seven energy centres. These are the doorways into the subtle body. When we activate these we are in possession of great power and wisdom. Each has its own sound, colour  vibration. These are the gifts we brought with us and which so few of take the time to understand.
We are like Aladdin standing before the door to the cave of jewels, trying to find the right words that will open the door. If we can become still, if we can become patient and non resistive, if we can truly let go of the conscious mind and and put our trust in the unknown, the word will come.
“In the beginning was the word, and the word was with God, and the word was God.” (John 1:1).The Vedas teach that in the beginning was “Om”, the sound that set the whole of creation into being. Before the “word”, “the earth was without form and void” and “there was darkness”. That is where we have to go, into the formless, the void. Into the darkness, the total stillness, the nothingness. Then without effort the word is given, the OM rises from the depth of this stillness vibrating through our whole being, every cell is stirred, a new order is created, a new heaven and a new earth; the door is opened and the treasure we have been seeking lies before us.
“There is something beyond our mind which abides in silence within our mind. It is the supreme mystery beyond thought. Let one’s mind and one’s subtle body rest upon that and not rest on anything else.” (Maitri Upanishad 6.19, Julian Mascara)  The power of this energy is so great, like the genie, we have to be ready to harness it for the greatest good of all.
